Do you worry about what tomorrow will bring? I used to worry all the time about things that wouldn’t happen for one or two years later. This is why so many people are overwhelmed with their lives. One of the things that the Lord has shown me is that my life perspective was all wrong. Yes, we must plan for the future. But once the plan is made, leave the outcome in God’s hands. Look at what James 4:13-15 (NKJV) says:
“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.””
We have no idea what will happen tomorrow! Let’s do the things that need to be done today as best we can. Concentrate on today. This way, you can see what God is doing in your life. Usually we don’t see what God is doing because we’re too wrapped up in worrying about tomorrow. It wasn’t until I just started dealing with one day at a time that I started to see the little things that God was doing. Look at the Message (MSG) version of what Matthew 6:34 (MSG) says:
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
Child of God, concentrate on surviving today. Don’t worry about what might happen tomorrow. Put your trust in God and not in your own abilities to make tomorrow happen. God has made a plan for each of our lives. Let’s not take our life plan out of God’s hands by worrying and looking for a Plan B. Get the right outlook! God love us and He will never fail us.
