I don’t know how I used to live without seeking God in my life every day. God was always my last stop when something was going wrong. I only went to Him when I was really in trouble and had no other recourse. When I went to God in prayer, it was always, “Please God, fix this!” I knew that He could answer my prayer, but would He?

It’s hard living in a world where everything is based on performance. You either make it or you don’t. How lucky we are as children of God, that we have a Heavenly Father who wants nothing more than to bless us as we trust in Him. I could never understand how I could have joy because I was a Christian. Maybe there was a magic formula or prayer that would change me and make me happy. But I finally realized that being able to trust in my Lord and Saviour and leave all my worries with Him is where our joy comes from. God is the source of all good things and it is because of this that we can put our faith in Him. Romans 15:13 explains it well:

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

God is the source of our hope because He sent His Son to die for our sins. And when Jesus was resurrected, He sent the Holy Spirit to live in each one of us. What could compare with these gifts here on earth? The answer is there is nothing on earth that compares to having God in our lives.

Child of God, are you filled with hope? Have you learned to trust in God? God is the source of hope because He can do all things – nothing is impossible for Him! But after praying, we can’t jump back into the world and try to fix our problem when God doesn’t do things when and how we want. Our faith and trust must be complete. If we start worrying again, we have in effect taken the problem out of His hands. And because we have a choice, God will give the problem back to us until we are ready to trust Him fully. We must leave our problem in His care and then forget about it, having faith and trusting in Him. God never disappoints.
