When we fear something, we will start to worry – this is the way that our minds work.

Fear is a normal reaction to something or someone who scares us. Unfortunately, worry follows very closely on the tail of fear. Healthy fear can be a stimulus in our lives. Worry can be a depressant and lead to many of the illnesses that we see in the world today. If you are a Christian, you are not to worry but put your trust in God. Jesus commented on worry in Matthew 6:27 (NIV). He said:

“Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

My grandmother was a worrier. Just before she went to be with the Lord, she told my Mom, “I worried all my life but in the end, very few of the things that I worried about ever happened!”

Why do we worry? Because we don’t see how we will get through whatever it is that scared us. We may not see a solution, but our Lord and Saviour has all the solutions that we will ever need to our problems.

Child of God, put your trust in God and give all your fears and worries to Him. Let Him show you how much He loves you by helping you in your daily life. Isn’t it comforting to know that you can give all of your fears and worries to the Creator of Heaven and earth?
