Child of God, how often do you pray to your Heavenly Father? When you run into trouble, is prayer your first, or your last, response? In 1Thessalonians 5:17 we are told:
“to pray without ceasing”
Rather than only pray when we are in trouble, we are to pray to our Lord and Saviour “without ceasing” Why is this? There are many reasons but we pray without ceasing in order to come into a close, personal relationship with our Lord. We go to our Lord because by ourselves, we can do nothing. Look at what Jesus said in John 15:5 (NLT)
“…For apart from me you can do nothing.”
Our Lord calls on us to come to Him for help and not to turn to people here in this world. He wants a relationship with us. However, relationships fall apart when there is no communication. Prayer is how we communicate with our Lord and Saviour. How we tell Him how we feel. He already knows but He wants us to talk to Him.
So, do you talk to your Heavenly Father or do you think you can live by your own effort. We are called to humble ourselves and realize that we control very little in our lives. If you can humble yourself and come to the Lord as a little child, God will do amazing things in your life.
