How ON EARTH Can I Live The Christian Life?
Part 41 – Assignment Four: Entering Into The Fellowship In The Godhead
Now that you have sat quietly and listened to the Father fellowshipping with the Son and the Son fellowshipping with the Father, it is time for you to enter into that fellowship, which really was, God’s original purpose.
How it that done? Use the following as a guideline, but then, as you become proficient at it, allow the Spirit of God to carry you along in that fellowship, in any way that He directs.
- Get alone, and sit quietly before the Lord.
- Love the Lord, and be loved by Him.
- Open up to each passage, and hear the Godhead speaking, first, to each other, and then to you.
- Example: Colossians 1:15-20
a) First, read Paul speaking.
Christ is the image of the unseen God, the firstborn of all creation. For in Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, the things we can see and the things we cannot, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. He was before all else began, and in Him all things hold together. He is the Head of the body made up of his people, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He is first in everything. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven, making peace with God for all by the blood of His cross. — Colossians 1:15-20
b) Now, hear the Son speaking.
“I am the image of the invisible God. I am the firstborn of all creation. In Me all things were created, both the things in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Me, and for Me. I existed prior to all things, and in Me all things hold together. I am the Head of the body, the church. I am the beginning. I am the firstborn from the dead. I am all this that I might come to be first place in everything. It was the Father’s good pleasure that all the fullness of the Father dwell in Me. Through Me all things are to be reconciled, and I have made peace through My blood on My cross. I have made peace with all things on earth and things in the heavens.”
c) Now, hear the Father speaking.
“My Son, Jesus Christ, is My physical image. He is the first of all creation. In Him all things were created, both the things in the heavens and on earth, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. My Son created all things through Himself and for Himself. My Son is before all things, and in Him all things hold together…”
d) Now, hear the Father and Son speaking to each other.
“Father, You are invisible, but I have made You visible here on the earth. I am Your physical image. I am the firstborn of all that has been created.”
“My Son, You have created everything, the heavens and the earth. You created the things that are visible and the things invisible. You created the thrones, the dominions. You brought forth the rulers and authorities. Everything was created by You and for You.”
“Father, I was here before all created things. Everything is held together by Me.”
“My Son, You are also head of the body, the bride, the church. You not only were at the beginning, You are the beginning; and you are the first ever to be born from out of the dead. You have come to have first place in everything. This all came about because it was My good pleasure that it come about. It pleased Me that all My fullness, all of My deity, dwell in You.”
“And, Father, for Your glory I have reconciled all things by My cross. And through My blood I have made peace with all things on earth and in the heavens.”
e) Now, hear the Son speaking personally to you. (You can substitute “my brother” with your first name, if you want).
“My brother, I am the image of the invisible God. I am the firstborn of all creation. In Me you were created and so was all else. Visible things, invisible things, I created them. I created the rulers, the authorities, the thrones, the dominions. They were created by Me, and, my brother, they are all for Me. I am before all things. I hold all things together. And, my brother, the church, I am her head. I am also the beginning, and I am the firstborn from the dead. Because of Me, you will be born from out of the dead. I have first place in everything. This is because it was the Father’s good pleasure that all the fullness of His deity dwell in Me. And, my brother, I have reconciled you to myself just as I have reconciled everything to Myself through My blood shed on the cross I made peace with you, and I have made peace with everything on earth and everything in the heavens.”
f) Now, hear the Father speaking personally to you. (You can substitute “my son” with your first name, if you want).
“My son, Jesus My Son is in My image. You are in My Son Jesus, so you too are in My image. He is the firstborn of all creation and you were in Him even then. In My Son Jesus all things were created; that includes you, My son. You were created through Him and created for Him. You were there, in Him, before all else began. My Son Jesus holds all things together; He is also holding you. My Son Jesus is the head of the body, the church, of which you are a part. He is also your head. He is your beginning. He is the firstborn from the dead. My Son Jesus is first in everything, and because you are in him, you have a part in that exalted place. All of My fullness dwells in Him. My fullness is also yours because you are in My Son. My son, you are reconciled to My Son Jesus and to Me. We are at peace with you because of My Son Jesus’ shed blood on the cross.”
g) Now, declare the passage back to Jesus.
“Lord Jesus, I know that You have shown me Your Father. I know what the Father is like, for You have made Him visible. Lord Jesus, You are the first event of this creation. My Lord, You have created everything. Lord, everything was created through You and by You, including me. You are my head, You are the head of the church. Lord, it is Your destiny that You become first place in my life and first place in everything. How You pleased the Father, and how pleased the Father was to allow all of His very self to dwell in You. I thank You, my Lord and Savior, for having reconciled everything — including me — to Yourself when You died on the cross and shed Your blood.”
- Repeat this exercise with your other 3 passages.
