Part 10 – How Did Jesus’s Death Affect Mankind?

While Jesus lived on this earth as a man, His spirit was fully alive, and His Father lived within Him. And He lived by His spirit within Him.

But what happened when He died? How did it affect humankind?

Jesus Destroyed The Old Species

When they crucified Jesus, they thought they had ended this one-of-a-kind species (Who had both divine life and human life within Him). Instead, He ended their species in anyone who comes to Him.

When Jesus died on the cross, the old, fallen species was crucified. The fallen race of the fallen sons of a fallen Adam is now, in essence, extinct! (One day it will disappear forever, but for now, its days are numbered).

Yet in anyone who comes to Christ, the old species is already finished.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live. (Galatians 2:20, NIV).

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature [the flesh] with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:24, NIV).

Jesus Created A New Species

In the place of this old species, Jesus created a brand new species. In crucifying Jesus, humanity brought total extinction to their entire old biological form. And Jesus, after His resurrection, launched a brand new species … after His kind.

“… by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace.” (Ephesians 2:15, NIV).

The early church so understood that they were a new species, that they actually called themselves “the Third Race”!

What Is The Implication For Us Today?

If you were to become one of those who belonged to His new species, what would you be like? You would have the highest life implanted in you, and you could choose to live by that highest life. And if you lived by the same life by which Jesus Christ lived by, and if that life matured in you, then you could expect that which was seen in Jesus, would become part of your experience also.

What would it require? It would require the implantation of an element from the spiritual plane into the natural plane … into you. Jesus would have to be able to pass His life form to another life form, a lower life form. He would have to be able to pass the highest life form down to the third highest life form. But is it possible?

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11, NIV).

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20, NIV).

And Jesus would have to give His life and the life of His Father to every fallen human creature who desired it, in incredible measure.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10, NIV).

And since Jesus and His Father lived by means of that full, abundant life, every person would also be able to live by that same, full, abundant life.

“Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of (or by) the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of (or by) me.” (John 6:57, NIV).
